# Peanut Tofu

Flavor-packed baked tofu cubes coated in a sticky savory peanut sauce — so good even tofu haters will love it.

## Ingredients

**Tofu**

- <Ingredient client:load amount="350 g">extra firm tofu, drained, pressed, cut into 1-inch cubes</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="2 tbsp">soy sauce</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="1 tsp">sesame oil</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="32g">cornstarch</Ingredient>

**Peanut Sauce**

- <Ingredient client:load amount="3 tbsp">natural peanut butter</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="1 tbsp">rice vinegar</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="2 tbsp">soy sauce</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="1 tbsp">agave or maple syrup</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="2 tsp">sesame oil</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="2 tsp">Sriracha (optional)</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="1">clove garlic, minced</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="1 tsp">fresh ginger, minced</Ingredient>
- <Ingredient client:load amount="37g">roasted salted peanuts, chopped</Ingredient>

**To Serve**

- Cilantro, chopped
- Cooked rice (optional)

## Instructions

1. Press tofu for 15–30 minutes<Sidenote><Timer client:only key="peanut-tofu-press" minutes={30} /></Sidenote> to remove excess water, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
2. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3. Mix all peanut sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
4. Toss tofu with soy sauce and sesame oil, then sprinkle over cornstarch and toss to coat.
5. Spread tofu on the baking sheet and bake for 12–18 minutes<Sidenote><Timer client:only key="peanut-tofu-bake" minutes={18} /></Sidenote> until golden.
6. Toss baked tofu with half the peanut sauce, return to the sheet, and bake for another 2–6 minutes<Sidenote><Timer client:load key="peanut-tofu-glaze" minutes={6} /></Sidenote>.
7. Serve hot over rice, drizzle with remaining sauce, and garnish with peanuts and cilantro.
