Peanut Tofu

Flavor-packed baked tofu cubes coated in a sticky savory peanut sauce — so good even tofu haters will love it.

Ingredients

Tofu

  • 350 g extra firm tofu, drained, pressed, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tb soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 32 g cornstarch

Peanut Sauce

  • 3 tb natural peanut butter
  • 1 tb rice vinegar
  • 2 tb soy sauce
  • 1 tb agave or maple syrup
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp Sriracha (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 37 g roasted salted peanuts, chopped

To Serve

  • Cilantro, chopped
  • Cooked rice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Press tofu for 15–30 minutes to remove excess water, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Mix all peanut sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
  4. Toss tofu with soy sauce and sesame oil, then sprinkle over cornstarch and toss to coat.
  5. Spread tofu on the baking sheet and bake for 12–18 minutes until golden.
  6. Toss baked tofu with half the peanut sauce, return to the sheet, and bake for another 2–6 minutes .
  7. Serve hot over rice, drizzle with remaining sauce, and garnish with peanuts and cilantro.
